Attend a ProgrammingLibrarian.org demo at ALA Annual Conference, enter to win free books

CHICAGO – The American Library Association (ALA) Public Programs Office will present regular demonstrations of ProgrammingLibrarian.org, an online resource center for all things related to creating cultural community programs for the library, during the ALA Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. Informal, interactive presentations will be held at 10 and 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26 and at 1:30 p.m. on Monday June 27 in the ALA Public Programs Office Booth (#2659) in the Exhibits Hall at the Washington Convention Center. An additional demonstration will be held at the ALA Membership Pavilion (#2424) at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 27.
All conference-goers who attend one of the ProgrammingLibrarian.org presentations will be entered in a drawing to receive copies of the latest works of some of the authors and poets to be featured on the LIVE! @ your library Reading Stage, presented by the ALA Public Programs Office with support for the National Endowment for the Arts. One set of books will be awarded Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Authors and poets to be featured on the LIVE! Stage include Laurie Halse Anderson, Roy Blount, Jr., Henri Cole, Heid E. Designed for librarians who plan and present cultural programs and events, ProgrammingLibrarian.org is both a resource center and a community of librarians committed to bringing increased access to literature, music, contemporary issues, art, history, poetry, scholars, writers and musicians to their communities.
