AASL offers graduate credits for summer online courses

CHICAGO – The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) will offer graduate credits for its Summer 2010 e-Academy online courses. This opportunity is being offered in conjunction with the University of Colorado Denver. The form is available at www.ala.org/aasl/eacademy.

The University of Colorado Denver School of Education & Human Development Program will offer 2.0 graduate credit hours to participants who submit a personal reflection and a course evaluation by Aug. 23. The fee is $150. Registration will be accepted by University of Colorado Denver from now until July 19.

From Monday, May 31, to Friday, June 25, AASL will offer "Making a Place, Making a Case for Read-Alouds: A Powerful Teaching Tool for Literacy K-6." The course will be facilitated by Christina Dorr and Liz Deskins. "The Path to Collaboration: Making it Happen" will be offered Monday, July 12, to Friday, Aug. 6, and will be facilitated by Marilyn Heath. Both of these courses are self-paced.

Detailed descriptions of each course and registration information are available on the AASL e-Academy pages. Fees are $99 for AASL members; $149 for ALA members; $225 for non-members; $99 for retired AASL members; and $75 for student AASL members.
