Preconference: WHAT IS XML? How Can XML be Used in Libraries?

A panel of experts in the field of XML will explore this question beginning with an overview of XML, describing the elements, entities and schemas of XML.

Preconference: Working with Opensource Sorftware

Friday, June 14, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m.
This preconference will be held at Emory University in the Woodruff Library

Hands-on experience using and implementing Open Source tools and software as they relate to libraries. Held at Emory University, participants will be able to choose to attend 3 out of 9 sessions focused on a particular library tool or software. Space is limited.  Please contact the LITA office before you register.

LITA President's Program: Building Our Cultural Heritage--Electronically

Join LITA President Flo Wilson as she welcomes speakers from the National Initiative for a Networked Cultural Heritage, research institutes, and museums to speak on the need for libraries and cultural organizations to work together to create, expand, and facilitate access to information resources from the humanities, arts, and social sciences.

2003 Annual Conference (Toronto) Program Proposal form (pdf file)

If you would like to propose a program for the 2003 ALA Annual Conference in Toronto, please fill out the proposal form and turn it into the LITA Program Planning Committee (PPC) at a PPC meeting in Atlanta. PPC meetings are on Sunday, 6/16, 2:00pm - 4:00pm and Monday, 6/17 9:30am - 12:30pm, both meeting are at the Hilton in the Madison Room.
