Committee Chairs Coordinator

The Committee Chairs Coordinator serves as a resource for chairs of LITA committees and interest groups.  The Coordinator facilitates communication between the leaders of these groups through administering meetings and the email list.

Skills

  • Should have a strong working knowledge of operations and processes
  • Should be a good meeting facilitator
  • Must be a LITA member

Principal Activities

  • Run LITA committee chair meetings at ALA Annual and Midwinter: prepare agenda, take notes/minutes; post to website; conduct in-depth orientation for new committee chairs
  • Run joint meetings with IG Chair coordinator at ALA Annual and Midwinter: prepare agenda, take notes/minutes; post to website
  • Respond to questions by LITA committee chairs; provide answers
  • Report to LITA Board on any issues or concerns raised
  • Submit appropriate information to LITA Website
  • Review and update LITA Committee Chairs Orientation Tip Sheet
  • Share the Virtual Toolkit with incoming chairs
