Benefits of joining and participating in the Library Instruction Round Table

Joining LIRT (Library Instruction Round Table) is an opportunity to learn and advance library instruction at the national level. Becoming a LIRT member is a great way to collaborate with librarians across different specialities. By becoming a member you support, can learn from, and can participate in:

Membership in the Library Instruction Round Table is open to any ALA member.

Join LIRT

You can join LIRT when applying or renewing your ALA membership. Select LIRT from the round table section when submitting your ALA membership application or renewal form. All Round Table memberships are $15 per member, or $5 per student member.

LIRT organizes events at ALA conferences and offers online learning opportunities. Subscribe to LIRT-L to be notified of the latest events. 

Volunteer for a LIRT Committee

Volunteering for a LIRT committee has multiple benefits. You can contribute to educating library instructors nationally and meet new colleagues from different types of libraries.
