Over the years, ALA's Sister Libraries Committee has compiled a variety of resources to help libraries develop successful Sister Libraries partnerships that are positive and beneficial to both libraries. We are here to offer guidance to get you started, help troubleshoot problems, and to provide ideas for keeping your partnership engaging:
Bibliography: Articles and other publications on the idea of sister libraries, also known as library twinning.
Brochures: Brochures are available in Arabic, Chinese, simplified Chinese, English Russian, Spanish, and Ukrainian. The PDFs can be printed and folded into simple brochures. Print and share as many as you want!
Sample Agreements/Contracts: Can be used to define the scope and expectations of the Sister Library relationship but are informational only and do not constitute legal advice.
Suggested activities: Ideas for what you can do to engage with your Sister Library.
