IFRT Student Membership

UPDATE: IFRT has reached its funding threshold. No more requests are being accepted. THANK YOU!

Intellectual freedom is the heart of our work. As library professionals, we resist censorship and support the right of every individual to both seek and receive information from all points of view without restriction. The Intellectual Freedom Round Table (IFRT) is a valued resource for all library professionals throughout their careers, providing venues to discuss and debate topical issues and supporting those concerned with censorship issues; including First Amendment rights, privacy, and information literacy,

We also know that during this pandemic, resources are stretched thin. To demonstrate our value to you, we are offering free IFRT membership for library students. We are positive that if you become an IFRT member while in library school, you will see the value of this round table and become a lifelong member.

Beginning March 15, current library students can submit a request to have a free ALA student membership, including an IFRT membership.

If you're already an ALA student member, you can submit a request to join the IFRT round table for free. IFRT will sponsor up to 25 free ALA student memberships with IFRT student memberships and up to 200 current student members joining the IFRT round table for one year. Requests will be honored in the order they are received until IFRT has reached its funding threshold or until August 31, the end of the fiscal year.

Check out the ALA Student Member Portal for additional student resources.
