The Carroll Preston Baber Research Grant was given annually to one or more librarians or library educators who conducted innovative research that could lead to an improvement in services to any specified group(s) of people. The Grant was put on hiatus in 2021.
About
The grant was managed by the ALA Office for Research and Statistics (ORS) from 1986 - 2021, and invited applicants to submit projects that aimed to answer a question that was of vital importance to the library community. Winning proposals featured projects that involved innovative uses of technology and cooperation between libraries, between libraries and other agencies, or between librarians and persons in other disciplines.
