User Experience for Libraries (UX4L)

Today’s library staff need to understand the root causes of the needs, desires, and context for proper User Experience in the library.

User Experience for Libraries (UX4L) is a webinar series that offers a comprehensive, holistic understanding of the principles and practices of User Experience. Today’s library staff need to understand the root causes of the needs, desires, and context for proper User Experience in the library.

Sessions for this program are available individually or for purchase as a bundle. By participating in this series, you’ll walk away with a greater understanding of how to assess the consumption of library services on the web, how we can put ourselves in the users’ shoes, and how we can work to create inclusive services and experiences that respond directly to patron needs.

With a diverse roster of experienced experts, UX4L is about learning how to analyze how the library and its services are consumed in a different light.

Participants will study:

  • how people consume library services
  • how library staff can measure usage of those services
  • how library staff can better understand the services that our patrons need
  • how library staff can co-create services for and with those patrons.
  • how to understand employee experience.

The four sessions in this series are:

  1. Systems Thinking: Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 1:00pm Eastern/12:00pm Central/11:00am Mountain/10:00am Pacific
  2. Asking the Right Questions to Measure User Experience: Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 1:00pm Eastern/12:00pm Central/11:00am Mountain/10:00am Pacific
