Stories Inspire. Opportunities Await.

Take charge of your future! The TLA 2024 Annual Conference is here to inspire library community members with heartfelt stories, fresh perspectives, innovative education and more. No matter which type of library you hail from — school, public, academic or special — we have sessions for you. Come find the tools to help you better serve your communities.

The TLA 2024 Annual Conference will be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, in downtown San Antonio, 900 E Market St, from April 16-19.

Here are 10 reasons you should join us at #txla24:

  1. Listen and Be Inspired: The conference will feature renowned speakers, bestselling authors and innovative leaders in the library field. By attending, you’ll have the chance to listen to their insights, gain fresh perspectives, and leave feeling inspired.
  2. Reignite Your Passion for Librarianship and Reconnect with Your “Why”: Over time, it’s natural to face challenges and lose sight of the reasons you chose this profession. The annual conference can help reignite that passion, reminding you of the profound impact librarians have on students and patrons throughout the state.
  3. Share Your Story to Inspire Others: Your journey as a librarian is filled with valuable experiences. Attending the conference gives you an opportunity to share your story with others.
  4. Consider the Many Ways that Libraries and Librarians Improve Communities: The conference will showcase innovative programs and initiatives that have improved their communities. You’ll learn how libraries make a difference every day.
  5. Embrace New Ideas, Fresh Perspectives, and Authentic Engagement: The library landscape is constantly evolving. Attending this conference will expose you to cutting-edge ideas, new technologies, and opportunities for engaging your patrons.
  6. Develop Your Personal and Professional Networks: Building a strong network is essential for professional growth. The conference offers numerous networking opportunities, allowing you to connect with like-minded professionals, share experiences, and build lasting relationships.
  7. Celebrate Professional Successes: Take this opportunity to celebrate your own accomplishments and those of your fellow librarians!
  8. Experience San Antonio: San Antonio is known for its vibrant culture, rich history, and diverse culinary scene. Attending the conference in this lively city during Fiesta season is a one-of-a-kind experience!
  9. Laugh, Unwind and Catch Up with Friends: In addition to the educational sessions, the conference provides a chance to relax, have fun, and create lasting memories with your peers. Make sure to go to TLA After Hours and your unit socials!
  10. Return to Your Library with a Renewed Outlook, Actionable Ideas, and Great Memories: Ultimately, attending the Texas Library Association Annual Conference will equip you with actionable takeaways, a renewed sense of purpose, and wonderful memories.
