Honoring the Legacy of Champions

Wed, April 4, 2018 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM EDT

Organized by Spectrum 20th Anniversary Cohort Champion Carla Davis-Castro.

Following up on our fall panel, “Show Me Your Champions,” we invite librarians of color and allies from the DC metropolitan area to join us for food and conversation. Busboys & Poets will host our informal gathering to celebrate the legacy of our professional and national champions on the 50th anniversary of the passing of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Proceeds will go to the Spectrum Scholarship, the American Library Association’s program which “affirms its commitment to diversity and inclusion by seeking the broadest participation of new generations of racially and ethnically diverse librarians to position ALA to provide leadership in the transformation of libraries and library services.”
