Future-Ready Youth: Preparing Our Patrons to Navigate the Age of AI

eLearning

Join ALSC to learn more about how AI is impacting young people and library service to children and families.

Children and teens are often eager adopters of new technology, but access doesn’t always mean understanding. As we navigate the age of AI, important questions arise: How is artificial intelligence impacting our youth, and what does the future hold? More importantly, how can we, as library professionals, empower our patrons to understand and engage with this consequential technology?

By participating in this session, you will:

  • Explore recent studies on how children and teens interact with artificial intelligence.
  • Identify curriculum sources for AI literacy programming in a public or school library setting.
  • Examine sample active and passive programs designed to teach youth critical thinking about artificial intelligence.
