2026 Coretta Scott King Book Awards Submission Form

Review ALA’s personal data notification (PDN) before proceeding.

To submit a title for consideration:

1. Review the eligibility and criteia page.
2. Complete the form below. Submit one form per title.
3. After the form is submitted, you will see additional information, please print the information.  This information will contain information on where to submit copies to the jury and ALA office. 

Please note:

1. Author or illustrator must live in the U.S. or maintain dual residency/citizenship.
2. Book must be published in the year preceding the year the award is given, evidenced by the copyright date printed in the book. For example, books submitted for the 2026 CSK Book Awards must have the copyright date of 2025. Any books printed before 2025 will not be considered.
3. Only finished copies will be accepted. Do not send advance reader copies, galleys, etc.
4. ALA Staff and the CSK Jury DOES NOT give reviews or critiques on books. This includes books being submitted to the Coretta Scott King Book Awards.
5. Titles submitted for the Coretta Scott King Book Awards will not be returned. Titles received by the ODLOS office are donated as part of The Coretta Scott King Book Awards Donation Grant.

Application for 2027 will open early 2026.
