Join us as we discuss training library personnel, both new to the library and existing staff taking on a new role. What training resources and tools have helped you? What techniques and workflows have you found facilitate practical training? How do you assess training processes? Participants will share tips and best practices they use when training for a variety of library roles.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will identify tools (software) and resources (already created documentation) to aid in training, ways to access successful training, and tips on assessing existing training.
Who Should Attend
Anyone who trains library personnel or who is interested in developing new and innovative ways to conduct successful training options is invited to attend and contribute.
Hosts
Megan Heady, is the Director of the Knowledge Access and Resource Management Department at West Virginia University Libraries. She earned her Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2006 and has worked for public and academic libraries for
fifteen years.
Melissa Brooks, is the Head of Technical Services at the University of Southern Mississippi Libraries. In this role, she works directly with Acquisitions, Collection Management, Electronic Resources, and Cataloging personnel.
