The future of work will require employees and organizations to be flexible, agile, adaptable, creative, and innovative in order to keep up with the fast pace of change. More diversity in the workforce will mean more attention to culture, values, and strengths. We need employees who are self-directed, motivated, engaged, and committed to continuous learning. At the same time, employees want more autonomy, self-efficacy, shared decision-making, and empowerment in order to live and work in alignment with their strengths and values, and experience better work-life balance and wellness. Organizational structures are flattening, and financial constraints are putting more responsibility on managers to facilitate the growth and development of their staff. The old "command and control" style of leadership won’t work in today’s workplace, and as a manager, you do not have the time or focus to be the main problem-solver. How about trying something different, something you can implement successfully now?

This webinar explores the role of library manager as coach to motivate, empower, and engage your staff for the future. We delve into what coaching is, what it is not, and how it differs from managing and mentoring. Participants will learn about the individual and organizational benefits of coaching and how to recognize coaching opportunities in the workplace.
