Submit a Nomination for the Career LIFT Award

Grounded in Core’s mission of cultivating and amplifying the collective expertise of library workers in core functions and its tagline, Leadership, Infrastructure, Futures, the LIFT awards are designed to support information professionals whose passion, actions, and everyday work warrants recognition and celebration. It is an investment in your future and ours.

No matter where you are in your career, you could probably use a lift! Core is dedicated to cultivating and amplifying the collective expertise of library workers in core functions and we recognize the importance of the core work of our practitioners. 

Recipients receive up to $1,500 that they may use on professional development including, but not limited to, ALA or Core membership dues, attending the ALA Annual Conference, ALA LibLearnX Conference, the Core Forum, or continuing education.


Nominations

Nominations are accepted by any Core member, and self-nominations are also accepted. Individuals must be a member of Core to receive the award.

Currently-serving officers and elected officials of Core, members of the current Career LIFT Awards Committee, previous winners of the Career LIFT Award, and OCLC employees and their immediate family members are ineligible.

Nominations of those submitted in a given year but who are not selected for the citation that year will be forwarded to the following year's committee for automatic reconsideration.

This award will be presented for the first time at the 2024 Core Forum.
