Core e-Forums: What Are They and Why Should I Care? (A free webinar from Core)

Tuesday, 4/13/2021
  • 2:00 PM-3:00 PM (Eastern)
  • 1:00 PM-2:00 PM (Central)
  • 12:00 PM-1:00 PM (Mountain)
  • 11:00 AM-12:00 PM (Pacific)

Starting in 2009, ALCTS e-Forums provided an opportunity for librarians in technical services to discuss issues with colleagues around the country and the world. With the creation of Core, potential e-Forum topics expanded to cover all areas of library work: management to cataloging and collections, technology to building operations, assessment to access and equity. E-Forums provide opportunities for anyone, from librarians at one-person libraries to librarians and staff at large institutions, to connect with others who may have the answer to their questions. Or provide the perfect solution to colleagues at other institutions, all without leaving the office. Attend this webinar and learn all about e-Forums, how they work, and how to engage both as a moderator and as a participant.

Learning Outcomes

In this webinar, participants will learn:

  • how e-Forums work;
  • how to sign up, manage subscription, and participate in e-Forums; and
  • how to volunteer to moderate and what those responsibilities entail.

Who Should Attend

Anyone interested in learning more about e-Forums and to inform former members of LITA and LLAMA and new Core members generally about the existence and value of e-Forums.
