In this short, facilitated conversation, participants will explore the six primary causes of burnout: workload, control, reward, community, fairness, and values, and discuss practical ways to push back against each one. Together, we’ll share real-world examples, identify small but meaningful shifts, and build a toolkit of strategies that support sustainable well-being at work.

Bobbi L. Newman is a Certified Wellness Practitioner, consultant, and Associate Professor of Practice in SLIS at the University of Iowa. She is a speaker, educator, and workplace well-being advocate. Bobb is the author of Fostering Wellness in the Workplace: A Handbook for Libraries and the editor of Well-Being in the Library Workplace: A Handbook for Managers. Her career spans public, academic, and special libraries, including roles in strategic leadership. She writes for libraries at librarianbyday.net
