Past Annual Conferences, 1876-Present
Annual Conferences of the Association are an Association-wide activity pertinent to all members regardless of divisional affiliation. The ALA Annual Conferences shall be devoted primarily to providing a range of program activities for its membership and to conduct the business of the Association.

The 1878 meeting was eliminated by the Executive Board in favor of a meeting in Boston in 1879 to which foreign librarians would be specifically invited.
