The Hundred Penny Box

A tender story of a child's protective love for his great-great-aunt is written with perception and warmth.  Each of the pennies in Aunt Dew's box represents a year of memories, and Michael loves to hear the story of those hundred years.  His mother wants to replace the box, but Michael knows that Aunt Dew feels that if her box goes, she goes, and he convinces his mother to make no change.  This is a strong picture of the bond between the young and the very old, seen as part of the love in an extended family.
