Vote for Your Favorite Nonfiction Shortlist Title

In April, the American Library Association and Carnegie Corporation of New York announced the shortlist for the 2014 Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction.

The hard-working selection committee has been reading up a storm since the late fall and had the difficult task of narrowing the field to three nonfiction and three fiction shortlist titles.

Book covers: On Paper, Five Days at Memorial, and The Bully Pulpit

Do you have an opinion about which nonfiction title should walk away with the prize? Here's your chance to be heard.

Everyone who votes will be entered in a drawing. One lucky winner will receive a set of all three nonfiction titles on the shortlist.

The two winning titles (one fiction, one nonfiction) will be announced at the popular celebratory event on Saturday, June 28 at 2014 ALA Annual Conference in Las Vegas. The medals and $5,000 checks will be presented, attendees will hear from finalist and winning authors, and a dessert and drinks reception will follow. Ticket information is available on the ALA Annual Conference website. Unable to attend? Follow the hashtag #ala_carnegie to be among the first to hear which books will receive the honor.
