Are you so excited to see everyone at the 2023 ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition? Are you thrilled at the prospect of connecting with your friends and colleagues from across the country? ALSC is too!
ALSC is working hard to ensure make the return to an in-person ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition absolutely smashing, and we need your help! Making the conference experience easy, accessible and delightful for all participants requires a lot of hands - more hands than the ALSC staff has. If you're looking for a way to help at Annual - or if you're just looking for a way to get a bit more involved and meet some people in a more structured way - ALSC has opportunities for you!
Opportunities
ALSC Greeting/Welcoming Team - Ever walked into a big building for an event and thought "Uh... where do I go now?" It's not a particularly great feeling and can scare people away from participating. The ALSC Greeting/Welcoming Team helps direct audience members to ALSC events, including the Newbery-Caldecott-Legacy Awards Banquet, the ALSC President's Program, and even the ALSC Education Programs! Be a friendly, welcoming smile to other conference-goers, and help create an environment where participants can all grow and develop in welcoming environments.
Newbery-Caldecott-Legacy Award Banquet Production Team - Be a part of the biggest event in children's librarianship every year - the Newbery-Caldecott-Legacy Award Banquet! At this annual ceremony, 1,000 people from the children's literature community gather to celebrate the winners of the Newbery, Caldecott, and Legacy awards. We need a team of production volunteers to help us set up the room for attendees, direct audience traffic, and more.
