Major Conferences and Institutes

ALA Annual Conference and Exhibition

ALA Annual Conference and Exhibition is the world's largest event for the library community. Bringing together more than 25,000 librarians, educators, author, publishers, literacy experts, illustrators and the leading suppliers to the market, the Annual Conference gives you a once-a-year opportunity to advance your career and improve your library.

Join ALA June 23-28, 2022, in Washington, DC! Call for presentations is now open; the submission site closes October 1. Conference registration will open soon!

ALA LibLearnX

LibLearnX is a member-focused education experience designed to motivate, inspire, and engage discussions that will shape the future of libraries and their communities. In addition to a variety of continuing education and professional development programming, LibLearnX also hosts the annual Youth Media Awards (YMAs). The YMAs include ALSC Book & Media Awards, including the Newbery, Caldecott, and more!

Conference registration opens this fall!

ALSC National Institute

The ALSC National Institute is a two day learning opportunity focused solely on youth services librarianship. Smaller than an ALA Annual Conference, with approximately 300 attendees, the Institute is a great place to network with colleagues, attend practical child-focused programs, and meet the authors/illustrators you know and love. Institute is designed for front-line library staff, children's literature experts, education and library school faculty and other interested adults.
