How to Write Successful ALSC Webinar and Course Proposals

Have you ever thought about teaching a course or presenting a webinar for ALSC but didn’t know where to begin? Then this is the presentation for you! Taught by current members of the ALSC Education Committee, participants will learn the differences between webinars and course proposals, how to submit successful proposals, and topics of high interest to those working with children in libraries and schools.  As a result of your participation, you will be able to turn your ideas into strong proposals and get started with teaching for ALSC!

This webinar was put together by the ALSC Education Committee, and will be presented by committee members Danielle Hartsfield, Rachel Reinwald, and Barbara Spears.

Danielle Hartsfield is Assistant Professor in the Teacher Education Department at the University of North Georgia.  A graduate of Old Dominion University, she currently serves as co-chair of the ALSC Education Committee and is a member of the 2018 Robert F. Sibert Medal Selection Committee.
Rachel Reinwald is a youth services librarian/school liaison at Lake Villa District Library (IL). She has a master's from Dominican University and a Bachelor's English, Secondary Education from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has written for School Library Journal, Booklist, and Library Sparks and freelances for several other publications.
Barbara Spears is a former branch manager and children's age level specialist of  the Prince George's County Memorial Library System. She has a master's from Rutgers University and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
