To select annually the recipient of the Maureen Hayes Award, given to a [new division name] member library to fund a visit from an author and/or illustrator who will speak to children and/or teens who have never before had the opportunity to hear a nationally known author or illustrator. To select the [new division name]/Candlewick Press "Light the Way" Grant to assist a library in conducting exemplary and replicable outreach to underserved populations through a new and innovative program or an expansion of work already being done. To select the Joann Sweetland Lum Memorial Grant that recognizes a librarian who has a creative, innovative project that promotes literacy. To prepare and disseminate to the membership information about each grant and the recipients.
