Holdings Standards

Holdings Statement for Bibliographic Items ( ANSI/NISO Z39.71-1999)

United States standard which defines data elements and sets forth display conventions for recording holdings of serial and non-serial bibliographic items in all formats. Includes provisions for compressed and itemized holdings statements, at four levels of specificity. An appendix with examples of statements created according to the standard is included. Developed by National Information Standards Organization, Standards Committee AL. See also description under listing of NISO standards.
