CRS Policy & Planning Committee

Charge

To review CRS committee and discussion group charges and roles on a regular basis and make recommendations to the CRS executive committee on potential changes. To consider and recommend to the CRS executive committee policies relevant to the section; to consider serials issues as a whole , including long-range section goals and objectives, and identify and recommend to the CRS executive committee new activities to be undertaken by the section. To coordinate the work of the CRS policy and planning committee with the ALCTS planning committee. To plan and monitor activities using the association's strategic and tactical plan as a framework.

Get Involved

ALA values committed and active committee members. Qualified members are welcome to volunteer to serve on the CRS Policy & Planning Committee. Committee members must have an interest in the work of the committee; be able to attend Annual Conferences and Midwinter Meetings to participate in the meetings and activities of the committee; and be able to work between conferences via e-mail and ALA Connect. Express your interest in serving on this or other committees by filling out an application form. Appointments take place once a year, during the spring. Committee service usually begins following Annual Conference, about July 1.
