ALCTS members act as representatives to other groups within ALA, as well as to outside associations who have a similar interests to ALCTS. ALCTS representatives to ALA groups are appointed by the ALCTS appointing officer. Representation of ALCTS or any of its units in organizations outside ALA must be approved by the ALCTS Board of Directors.

Get Involved
ALCTS values committed and active committee members. Qualified members are welcome to volunteer to represent ALCTS within ALA or with outside associations. Committee members must have an interest in the work of work of the outside group or association and be able to attend meetings of that group or association. Express your interest in serving on this or other committees by filling out a volunteer form. Appointments take place once a year, during the spring. Representative service usually begins following Annual Conference, about July 1.
