part of Implementing an Institutional Repository: 2009 Midwinter Symposium

Abstract: This presentation will explore the rationale, issues, benefits, and drawbacks of Boston College's decision to migrate its eScholarship@BC repository from a hosted IR solution (Digital Commons) to a local platform (ExLibris's DigiTool). Among the topics explored will be the potential that local control offers for creating additional value-added services and the resources required to realize that potential.
