This webinar focuses primarily on the identification of RDA concepts and elements specific to the description of music materials encoded in MARC21. Attendees will
- gain an understanding of the differences between AACR2 and RDA cataloging for music materials;
- be able to locate RDA instructions pertaining to music materials in the RDA Toolkit;
- identify new MARC21 fields created to accommodate RDA elements; and
- learn about music cataloging resources that supplement RDA instructions pertaining to music materials.
Who Should Attend?
Cataloging staff who are non-music specialists, or that only occasionally catalog music materials. A basic overview that covers both scores and sound recordings will be given, but it will not be comprehensive.
