University of Toronto Libraries sought to empower public service staff to resolve simple eResource problems, removing the need to escalate many user problems to technical support. Attendees will learn how to design a training program that allows non-technical library staff to more confidently provide user support for electronic resources.

Learning Outcomes

Following this session, participants will be able to: measure the level of understanding about electronic resources among public service staff and design an effective training program that allows public service staff to diagnose and resolve simple eResource queries.

Who Should Attend

Electronic resource librarians, technical service staff, or library managers who are interested in building capacity among library staff.

Presenter

Eva Jurczyk is from the Collection Development Department at the University of Toronto Libraries and is involved in the acquisition, licensing, access management and analysis of the Libraries' electronic resource collections.
