Serve as an information source regarding multi-type libraries and other institutions in Armenia and the Diaspora which totally or in part house collections on Armenian language or Armenological materials.

Provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, resource-sharing, and collaboration among librarians who serve the Armenian community, support Armenian studies programs, or have an interest in enhancing their knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the Armenian heritage.

Plan and present programs at Association conferences, collaborating with other committees of EMIERT, other units of ALA and affiliate organizations.

Develop and execute projects with a special focus on Armenian libraries throughout the world.

Further the goals of EMIERT by increasing membership in EMIERT and ALLIC, involving more Armenian studies area specialist and international members and recruiting Armenian students for the library profession.

Building Coalitions for Ethnicity Committee
Terms of Reference

Maintain liaison with the ALA units interested and involved in promotion of library services to ethnic communities.
-
Establish relations with ALA Caucuses and affiliated groups such as Reforma, CALA, APALA, etc.
-
Initiate and cooperate in joint programs and projects with those units which promote cross-cultural cooperation and coordination to improve library collections, programs and services to members of ethnic communities.

Establish relations with governmental agencies at all levels and ethnic organizations to foster the cause of library and information services to ethnic communities.

Promote the formulation and use of proper guidelines in building multi-ethnic, multilingual collections on adult, young adult and juvenile levels.

Publishing and Multicultural Materials

Review and monitor existing, publications on ethno-cultural groups in the United States and Canada.

Stimulate publishing companies to produce more and better materials with stress on positive ethnic and cultural role models.

Survey existing reference tools on ethno-cultural minorities and assess needs for specific groups or topics.

Coordinate joint efforts between librarians and publishing houses via standard guidelines for publishers, based on the needs of the above groups or multi-ethnic/multi-cultural communities.

Stimulate authors to become involved in projects devoted to ethno-cultural minorities via special award presented by the Round Table.
