In managing an award program, there are many expenses involved, such as administering and publicizing the award and award events and creating the medals. In order to meet these expenses and continue offering the Belpré award, it is important to establish a source of income that will help support the award program well into the future. ALSC, with approval and support from REFORMA, has established the Pura Belpré Award Endowment. Our minimum fundraising goal is to build the endowment to $50,000 over the next two years. Once this goal has been attained, the interest from the endowment can be used toward expenses associated with the award.
Your tax-deductible donation to the Pura Belpré Award Endowment will help us in our goal to continue this important award program long into the future. Contributions can be sent in by mail, using our printable, mail-in form. Donors can also contribute online using our credit card donation form.
