Recommend Books for the Holidays - 2006
A list of books about holidays (Hanukkah, Christmas, Chinese New Year) and good books to give as gifts for the holidays.

Books as Passports to Global Understanding for Children in the U.S. - Five Bibliographies by the ALSC International Relations Committee

Books Dealing with Diversity
Child magazine requested a list of books dealing with diversity. This book list was compiled in March 2004 by the ALSC Quicklists Consulting Committee.

Positive Portrayals of the Aging and Elderly
A list of books with positive portrayals of aging and older characters for younger readers, middle readers, & older readers from PreK to Grade 6. This list was created by ALSC as part of a collaborative project with the SEA Change Program of the Center on Aging, Health & Humanities at The George Washington University.

Great Middle School Reads
A list of books that appeal to middle school readers compiled by Hollis Rudiger, Cooperative Children's Book Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison, for the 2004 ALSC National Institute in Minneapolis, Mn.

Growing Up Latino in the USA
A bibliography of children's books prepared by the ALSC International Relations Committee for the 2004 Conference Program "Serving the Needs of Latinos in the US through Children's Literature."

Books to Grow On
A list of recommended books for children from birth to age three, compiled by the ALA/Children's Book Council Joint Committee. Titles are arranged by age group 0-6 months, 6-12 months, etc. Each age grouping includes a brief description of a child's awareness of books at that age level.

The American Experience: Strength from Diversity
A bibliography of books that celebrate the diversity found in communities in the United States. This bibliography was prepared by the 1998-99 and 1999-2000 ALSC International Relations Committees.

Bilingual Books for Children
A bibliography of books currently available with bilingual text. Books on the list include books in two or more languages, published between 1995-1999 or currently in print. This bibliography was prepared by the 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 ALSC International Relations Committee.

Sharing Cultures Bibliography
A bibliography of books by Asian-American children's book authors compiled by the ALSC International Relations Committee.

Suggested Books for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America List
The ALSC Quicklists Consulting Committee created two top ten lists of "all-time classic" books that parents and children can read together. These lists were produced for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America for national KidsDay (August 2001) and include a preschool to age 8 list and an ages 8-12 list.

A list of books compiled by the ALSC Quicklists Consulting Committee at the request of Reading Is Fundamental.
