History of the International Responsibilities Task Force (IRTF)
Since its founding in 1969, the Social Responsibilities Round Table (SRRT) has engaged the American Library Association with international and human rights concerns, linking librarianship to broader struggles for justice worldwide. SRRT currently has three awards: Herb Biblo Outstanding Leadership Award for Social Justice & Equality - The purpose of this award is to recognize an individual for outstanding leadership in promoting social justice and/or equality within the library profession. This award is co-sponsored by Library Juice Press.
