Meet the 2026 summer reading lists from ALSC. Free to download and packed with book and digital media recommendations that appeal to young people (ages birth to 14), these lists will help keep children reading and exploring all summer.

Discussion Sessions

Discussion Sessions at National Institute provide an opportunity for attendees to connect with librarians in similar situations. Part professional development discussion, part networking, these are spaces and places to engage with others in the field serving similar communities or from similar professional or personal backgrounds.

Sibert Award Creators

As of 2026, the Robert F. Sibert Award has had 26 Medal winners and numerous honorees. The following list is filled with author and illustrator websites with links to activities, discussion guides, curriculum guides, videos, and more. Each author and/or illustrator has their own particular take on the many ways their books can be integrated into lessons and programs. Teen Services Development Day

Teen Services Development Day is a one-day, stand-alone event devoted exclusively to teen services for library staff. The day will include two keynotes and eleven education programs focused specifically on supporting teen services in libraries.
