Voter Engagement Press Kit

Reader. Voter. Ready

America’s libraries are cornerstones for civic engagement. As centers of civic life in neighborhoods, schools and academic institutions across the country, libraries are helping voters get ready for local, state and federal elections by

  1. providing information about voting and voter registration.
  2. offering services for voters and registrants, such as hosting polling places and ballot drop-off sites.
  3. convening candidate forums and debates.
  4. delivering resources and educational programs that increase civic and information literacy.
78% - Nearly eight in ten adults feel that public libraries help them find trustworthy and reliable information. Informed voters rely on known and trusted information sources.
85.2% - The vast majority of public libraries already have partnerships with state, local, county or municipal governments, including many that already work with elections officials.
