National Voter Registration Day

WHAT IS NATIONAL VOTER REGISTRATION DAY?

Celebrated every September, NVRD is a nonpartisan civic holiday celebrating our democracy. On September 19, 2023, organizations across the nation will join a coordinated effort to register eligible voters in preparation for Election Day.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

Libraries are essential partners in civic engagement, providing access to trusted information, quality programming, and opportunities for dialogue. Many serve as designated voter registration sites, polling places, or ballot drop-off locations. NVRD provides training, information, and resources that make it easy and fun for libraries to host and promote voter registration.
