Intersections

By John Amundsen (jamundsen@ala.org) | On Monday, Feb. 6th, librarians and representatives from government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and resettlement agencies from across the U.S. and around the world gathered in Chicago for the Project Welcome: Libraries Serving Refugees and Asylum Seekers Summit. Hosted by the Mortenson Center of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the American Library Association, and funded by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the day-long conference featured panel presentations, poster sessions, and breakout sessions focused on the challenges and opportunities of serving refugees and asylum seekers in libraries.
