RBMS Guidelines and Standards Task Force

Charge

The RBMS Guidelines and Standards Task Force will bring RBMS into compliance with ACRL policy for regular review of ACRL-endorsed guidelines and standards and will develop recommendations for a sustainable approach to regular review and maintenance of these resources by the section. The Task Force will use criteria established by ACRL in the ACRL Guide to Policies and Procedures in section 14.7 to conduct expedited reviews of all RBMS standards and guidelines that are overdue for review as of January 1, 2025, as well as those due for review in calendar year 2025; the Task Force will not be responsible for standards or guidelines maintained by an RBMS standing committee. The Task Force will work with the RBMS Executive Committee to establish any necessary structure for joint review of appropriate standards or guidelines with the Society of American Archivists. In addition to conducting expedited reviews, the Task Force will note any standards or guidelines in need of a more extensive review and make a recommendation to the RBMS Executive Committee outlining a proposed approach to this review. They will also develop a recommendation for a sustainable process to conduct regular review and maintenance of all guidelines by the section.
