RBMS Climate Readiness Task Force

Charge

Responsible for investigating ongoing efforts within the libraries, archives, and broader cultural heritage communities to document the impact of climate change on cultural heritage institutions, to mitigate the impact of climate change on cultural heritage institutions, and to investigate and advocate for sustainable environmental practices in cultural heritage work. The task force will also identify climate readiness needs within these sectors, and identify ways that RBMS may address these needs. The task force will engage RBMS, ACRL, ALA, SAA, AIC and any other relevant groups in this dialog about these issues through virtual meetings, and will produce a report of recommendations for next steps for RBMS to address issues related to climate change in the cultural heritage sector. In alignment with the mission of this task force, and in recognition of organizational changes in ALA, the group will be entirely virtual, requiring no travel for meetings for any members.
