Charge
The Task Force on RBMS Meetings and Conferences evaluates opportunities to make RBMS annual meetings more inclusive and flexible. To remove obstacles to inclusivity, the Task Force will examine the traditional in-person structure tied to the ALA meeting calendar, and the accompanying travel and registration costs. The Task Force will assess the present logistics of the RBMS Annual and Midwinter business meetings and the annual RBMS Conferences. The Task Force will review ALA Bylaws (Divisions Section 8.B), business meeting and conference options (e.g., in-person, virtual, hybrid), calendar schedules, possible joint conferences, and associated costs in order to determine future meeting formats that best meet the needs of its collective membership. The Task Force will make its recommendations to the RBMS Executive Committee by June 30, 2023.
