Conscientious, inquisitive, tenacious.
I am currently reading Change the Recipe: because you can’t build a better world without breaking some eggs by José Andrés with Richard Wolffe. I am loving the snippets of life lessons.
Opportunities, resources, scholarship.
I value that there is an opportunity for everyone at ACRL, no matter your interest. And it is a great place to meet and work with like-minded folk with similar scholarly interests and challenges to establish a community of practice in your field. In the time I have been part of the Science and Technology Section, I have learnt so much from my colleagues through their different experiences. I have found ACRL a community that wants to advance the profession for everyone.
I significantly contribute to my campus by championing sustainability and empowering academic success. Aside from my liaison role, through initiatives such as leading the Sustainable Libraries Certification Program in the library, and facilitating participatory science programming with campus faculty, I’ve fostered a more environmentally conscious and inclusive learning environment. I have engaged the broader campus community in impactful, real-world projects and open science initiatives.
It's a genuine privilege to engage in work that directly supports and advances student success and campus initiatives, especially with the relative autonomy I'm afforded. The institutional support not only fuels my own dedication but also underscores a profound responsibility: to pave the way for other librarians who aspire to similar impactful work, yet face limitations in their current circumstances. Ultimately, my goal is to contribute significantly to the library becoming an indispensable center for information support, collaboration, and community engagement, directly supporting the university's academic mission and enhancing the overall well-being of our campus.
