Describe yourself in three words:

Considerate, open-minded, reliable.

What are you reading (or listening to on your mobile device)?

I'm currently rereading the "City of Brass" by S. A. Chakraborty. A great, nonwestern, fantasy read.

Describe ACRL in three words:

Informative, engaging, professional.

What do you value about ACRL?

I enjoy participating in the copious amounts of professional development offered through ACRL.

What do you as an academic librarian contribute to your campus?

I am the main facilitator of the library strategic planning and the maintaining of accrediting standards. Each program, college, and the university require clearly met standards for resources and services of their academic library. I, as an academic librarian, meet these needs in order to maintain our accreditations.

In your own words

I wish to emphasize the importance of growing the next generation of academic librarians into research professionals. There are many ways for everyone to be involved in this process, from offering an internship at your unit to speaking at a masters program about what it is you do. Encourage the library staff who wish to pursue the degree. Mentorship is, by far, one of the most important aspects of academic librarianship.
