What do you value about ACRL?

As a member of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), I have the opportunity to connect with fellow academic librarians and professionals, fostering a network for sharing ideas, experiences, and potential research collaborations.

What do you as an academic librarian contribute to your campus?

As an academic librarian, I contribute to my campus by offering a variety of opportunities for students to engage with information literacy in creative ways, including workshops, lectures, pop-up libraries, and interactive games. I also teach classes in the Information Studies Department, and provide tailored information literacy instruction through class visits. My role extends to offering chat reference and one-on-one research consultations, ensuring students have the support they need. Additionally, I strive to serve as a warm, familiar face, creating an inviting atmosphere where students feel comfortable and confident in seeking assistance, reinforcing the library as a space where people are eager to help.

In your own words

I believe that a culture dedicated to lifelong learning not only enriches individual lives but also strengthens society as a whole, fostering freedom, democracy, and a higher quality of life for all. As an academic librarian, I work every day to contribute to this vision.
