Describe ACRL in three words:

Visionary, welcoming, community.

What do you value about ACRL?

I value the professional development opportunities that ACRL provides, as well as the opportunities to meet and learn from other academic librarians at all stages of their careers. ACRL is also a wonderful source of information on numerous topics. I never run out of things to learn!

What do you as an academic librarian contribute to your campus?

I collaborate with a wide range of departments and programs to support research, teaching, and learning at USD. As a liaison to the natural sciences, the medical residency programs, and the Biomedical and Translational Sciences department within the medical school, I help bridge library services with academic and clinical needs. I’ve also played a role in developing data literacy workshops and launching a virtual reality lab on campus to enhance innovative learning opportunities. No two days are the same, and I love the chance to contribute to and expand upon the University Libraries’ core mission and services.

In your own words

I love working in an environment centered around learning, where my role involves supporting students on their academic journeys and faculty as they advance our knowledge about the world. No matter who I'm helping on a given day, I always feel like I'm contributing to positive change through education.
