CJCLS Community College Library Leadership Award

This annual award recognizes significant achievement in community college leadership.

Award

A certificate for the award recipient. The award is administered by the Community and Junior College Libraries Section of ACRL and juried by the ACRL/CJCLS Awards Committee.

Eligibility

Individuals who are current ACRL/CJCLS members are eligible to receive the award. Nominations will be kept on file for three consecutive years.

Criteria

This annual award recognizes significant achievement in community college leadership. Achievement could be demonstrated by any of the following:

  • Leadership of a successful program or initiative focused on advancing community college libraries or librarianship
  • A scholarly contribution in the field of community college library research
  • Active mentorship of other community college librarians or staff members
  • Leadership in regional or national library organizations that focus on community college librarianship or a closely related field
  • Lifetime achievement
  • Other examples of leadership not included in this list

Submissions

Submissions are currently being accepted through December 5, 2025.

Electronic submissions through the online nomination form are required. Nominations should include a narrative letter describing the nominee's achievements and a current vita for the nominee, if desired.

Submissions will be reviewed using this rubric.
