The ACRL External Liaisons Evaluation Task Force was established by the ACRL Board of Directors on June 27, 2026.

Tasks

  1. Review the history, goals, and current structure of the External Liaisons Program
  2. Examine ongoing questions regarding program purpose, scope, and expectations
  3. Assess how liaison activities support relationships with external organizations and
    contribute to ACRL strategic goals
  4. Gather input from current and former liaisons, appointing authorities, External Liaisons
    Committee members, and partner organizations through surveys, focus groups, etc.
  5. Evaluate challenges related to role clarity, support structures, and engagement with
    external associations
  6. Develop recommendations addressing:
    1. Program goals and intended outcomes
    2. Roles and responsibilities of liaisons, appointing authorities, and external
      partners
    3. Expectations for liaison engagement
    4. Sustainability of the program model, including alignment of financial and
      staffing resources with program goals
    5. Support and funding structures
    6. Communication, coordination, and reporting mechanisms
    7. Approaches to assessing program impact and effectiveness
