ACRL/STS Structure and Responsibilities Implementation Task Force
Charge
Based on the findings of the Task Force for Section Structure and Responsibilities in 2024, this task force will create an implementation plan to restructure STS, including, but not limited to, creating, combining, and sunsetting committees and discussion groups, subsequently creating or editing committee and discussion groups names and charges, and creating a timeline to complete these tasks. The task force's work will be an effort to restructure and streamline committees and discussion groups to better reflect the current needs and values of the section. The task force will use the report created by the Task Force for Section Structure and Responsibilities in 2024 as the basis for their work and will consult reports conducted by the Future Modalities Task Force and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Task Force in 2023 and 2020, respectively. The task force may also conduct any additional information gathering necessary in the process of creating the implementation plan. This task force will present their implementation plan to the STS Executive Committee, STS Council, and section membership for feedback prior to final approval by STS Council in spring 2026. Implementation of the approved plan will occur under their direction during the 2026-2027 term.
