ACRL/LES Communications Committee
Charge
To coordinate the Section’s communications and foster an equitable professional community among librarians in the Section. Oversees all publications associated with the Section, including the Section newsletter. Identifies publication needs, encourages research and writing relevant to the Section’s interests, and recommends new publications to the Executive Committee. If approved, the committee oversees the development and production of these projects. The Executive Committee may also charge the committee with particular publication initiatives. Appeals for funding for special publication projects must be submitted through the Executive Committee.
Plans and/or coordinates virtual professional development opportunities and works to ensure equitable virtual participation and access to LES events, including during the two annual ACRL-LES meetings. Collaborates with the Executive Committee and other LES committees and discussion groups to support communication, programming, and member engagement across the Section.
